Weltpresse, 1946

Not only the US power published a newspaper, but also the Soviet, British and French occupying powers established papers in Austria: the Soviets: "Die Oesterreichische Zeitung", the British: "Weltpresse" and the French: "Welt am Abend."
"Die Oesterreichische Zeitung" ceased publication in 1955. The "Weltpresse" was published from 1950 to 1957 by a publisher association linked to the SPOe, the "Welt am Montag-Zeitungsverlagsgesellschaft" ("Welt am Abend," "Welt am Montag"). Until its cessation in 1958 it was published by F. Moldens Presse-Verlag. The "Welt am Abend" was also taken over by the "Welt am Montag-Zeitungsverlagsgesellschaft" and ceased publication in 1948.
