Margot Wallström, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy gave a press conference on the White Paper on Communication adopted by the EC. The goal of the White Paper is to establish a European communications policy, designed to play a prominent role in the European governmental system and to bridge the gap between the EU and its citizens. Themes for discussion include: the transfer of power to the citizens, working alongside the media and with new technology, and better understanding of public opinion. 01/02/2006
